CompBuddy — For Staff & Admins

Meet Director

The daily task — set it, publish it, run the window, stop it if needed

Your screens

The meet director gets a bottom bar with five tabs:

Setting the task

The Task Settings card is for today's task. On a day without one, switch on Has a task first.

Import from a QR code

The quickest way: tap the QR icon and scan the task QR code from XCTrack or SeeYou (XCTSK format). CompBuddy shows what it read — type, race start and gates, goal deadline, finish altitude, goal type, distances and turnpoints — before you tap Import.

Edit by hand

Task type (Race to Goal, Open Distance, Speedrun), turn direction (left / right), goal type (cylinder / line), window open and close, race start and race end. Optimised and through-centres distances are shown for checking.

Publishing and making it final

Running the window

Each time below can be set to a specific time or triggered with Open Now / Close Now. Every change sends a push notification to all pilots:

Before race start, the window can be opened and closed as often as needed. Once the race has started, window and race end are locked; race start itself can still be adjusted.

Stopping a task

Stop Task records the stop time and notifies every pilot: "Task stopped at 15:20. Please go land safe." The task shows as Task Stopped everywhere.

SOS alarm

When a pilot triggers SOS on their tracker, meet directors and admins get a full-screen alarm that keeps ringing — for everyone — until someone taps Acknowledge — Stop Alarm. Dismissing it without acknowledging only closes it on your phone; it keeps ringing for the others. See Trackers.

Tracker features are still in beta. Never rely on CompBuddy alone for safety.

Schedule

Below the task you'll find the Today and Tomorrow schedule, the same events pilots and staff see.
