One app, several roles
Pilots and staff use the same CompBuddy app and the same kind of account. What you see inside a competition depends on the role the organiser gave you there:

An admin adds you to the competition's staff list and connects your account — by scanning your account QR code, or by sending you an invite email. See Login & Account.
Extra functions
Independent of the role, an admin can switch on two extra menu entries for any staff member:
- Tracker Management — the tracker status screen, plus handing out and collecting trackers. See Trackers.
- Pilot Sync — pull the latest pilot list from Airtribune.
So a checkpoint helper can also run the tracker desk, without getting full admin rights.
What every role shares
The header
Every staff screen has the same header as the pilot side: your name and role, ‹ back to the competition list, the bell for notifications, the speech bubble for messages, and ☰ for the menu. The red crossed-out Wi-Fi icon shows when you're offline.
Switch role
If you're both a pilot and staff in the same competition, the purple switch-role icon flips your whole view between the pilot screens and the staff screens.

Staff, drivers and meet directors see the Today and Tomorrow schedule — the same events pilots see. For staff and drivers, events with check-in or check-out are tappable and open the continuous scan loop described on the Staff page.

Working without signal
Check-in scans, tracker hand-outs and most edits are saved on your phone when there's no connection and sent automatically later. See Maps & Offline for how this works and what to prepare before going up the mountain.
